My name is Stephanie Irvine and I am the owner of Coastal Bookkeeping Ltd.
In 1989, I was introduced to ledger bookkeeping and it was the start of my passion with numbers.
Why? I think it’s most likely because of the organization required to have everything balanced, reconciled, and in its place. I find it extremely satisfying, which I will admit, is sometimes an odd thing for people to hear.
Since this first introduction, I was determined to learn more. Through the years, and while I was raising my family, I took as many accounting courses as I could handle through Vancouver Island University, Thompson Rivers University (distance learning), the Knowledge Bureau (online learning), the Canadian Payroll Association, & even Sprott-Shaw College for some legal office skills training.
I entered the workforce first as a bookkeeper for various small businesses and then later as a payroll specialist for a large island-based Credit Union where I was one of two people who ran a bi-weekly, in-house, payroll for over 200 employees under two separate union contracts. Later, I left the Credit Union to work in a smaller Accounting firm, where I was responsible for looking after the needs of a variety of bookkeeping and income tax clients, but I also dabbled in Corporate year end work.
This later employment is what really got me excited to start my next adventure… running my own bookkeeping business! With the moral support of a great employer whom I still closely work with today, I started my new business in 2013 and have never looked back.
Dedication to a high degree of integrity, workmanship, and top quality services is what I strive for.
